Thread: Newbie question - Cams JWT SR3

I bought these cams for my nissan Almera wit an lowport SR20DE engine. Another modification will be headers. My question is, does the engine run safe without any ecu tunning? Or are there some parts which have to be done, like fuel pressure regulator ??

Did you get the S3 cams or the S3R cams? Because the S3R cams won't work on non roller rocker head.

No the onewho sold me then has the same car I have and has the them in his engine before, so they should fit ^^

His car is Roller Rocker. All EUDM SR20 cars 96+ year are RR. He will be fine.

No, ECU tuning isnt necessary. Car is capable of 175PS or so with header, exhaust and intake.

Thx ! I thought the same, but some told me i should use a fuel pressure regulator...but i dont wanted to play around with fuel equipment so I think to keep the engine cool with aluminium Radiator or an Oil cooler ist the better way! But I am not sure so thats the reason I am asking ^^

would you say it possible to gain morhe hp if would usw a wideband o2 and a apexi neo for tunning? or would you say it is worthless?

of course you can make more power if you tune the thing. Just make sure you or whoever is doing the tuning knows what they are doing. Bad tune=slow car and/or not long before it blows up.

I thought i would set the Air Fuel Ratio @ full throttle to 0,9 so it doesn't goes up to ~ 1 when im using stage 1 cams and also gains more HP.

Most of us aim for around 0.87 lambda for naturally aspirated engines at WOT. That seems to be where the most power is. 1.0 is certainly too lean.
