woahhh there, RON ratings overseas are NOT the same as US octane ratings. In the states its RON+MON/2

therefore 93 octane = 98 RON

I still don't understand why you want to spend MORE money for LESS power, with a crappier powerband and a far less streetable car

This thread is pointless... the guy is stuck on his way.. but when comparing a DE head to a Honda head it would be close to a B20 head (No Vtec) and a VE head is similar to a B18C (Vtec) Type R.. plain and simple when the cams switches lobs you get more air in and exhaust out.. equaling more power

You can keep stock pistons. Ive had few pretty good 10:1 CR cammed DE, it runs nice. Building bottom end is extra money to be spend. You have to think about it, if its worth... because its in price range of VE.

My Stock Drop in SR20VE walk all them Civic Hatchback with GSR swap all day any day. My DE with Intake, ebay 2.5 Header $100, 9lbs flywheel $250, BC Stg2 cam$250-$300 forgot the real price but was arond there, jwt ECU $500 had a hard time with reg. DC2 Cam'ed. If i knew about the VE i would have drop it in ealier then wasting money getting all the bolts on for the DE.

but he already HAS a VE head, thats the crazy part... I think he just has this idea that he has to change pistons for the VE head, or something... but then he wants to keep the DE head and use sr16 pistons? the whole thread makes NO sense at all

Well, he has to change them, because he has 10:1 CR flat pistons in his DE. And i think they will get in contact with valves... he can still use stock DE pistons and make valve notches thought.
