maybe if you posted this up in the all motor section you'd of gotten better answers, in most cases a stock ve will stomp all over a bolted, camed, exhausted de. everybody is questioning you for a reason. dollar for dollar you'd be happier going the ve rout with WAY more options to make more power ever imaginable than from a de. Trust, good luck with your build

so if i put on a sr20ve head, and use sr16ve pistons, with my stock block, crank, and rods, i will make more power than cams, and full bolt ons???

of coarse, yes.

ve always makes more power then the de. part per part/dollar per dollar.

what question? can you bolt a VE head onto a DE block? I was always under the impression that it wasn't hard to do at all, but Ive never done it. If you already have the head it seems silly to sell it and put cams in the DE head

i kinda feel this thread is kinda pointless, if u gonna sell a head to buy cams for a de, thats not cost effective.. you should listen to these guys but i believe maybe hes full of it and had no head

what i want to know is will a standard thickness head gasket be ok to run after getting the head skimmed while using BC2 cams and 16ve pistons in place. and if i do have clearence however minimal it may be its going to be ok thru-out the rev range to factory rev limiter of 7.5k

No valve clearence problems. 7.5k is ok too with stock springs.

SR16 pistons are around 11.7:1. Just dont skim head/block a lot. You will need to run 100oct. fuel. Plus all these mods are pointless without ECU tuning.
