Vqmang you can drive mine if you want a comparitve guage to go by.
you break it and Ill rape replacement parts off yours though!! and OMFG!! whats taking so long with the 15 min. CAI install already?!?!?!?!?

and just out of curiousity, I know your car needs a tune but you dont mention in your posts what your going to tune it with?

Showing my age a bit here but I remember when I started driving gas (ethyl 97 octane BTW!!) was .45 cents/gal. thats why we all ran big blocks back in the day. 8mpg was no big deal....

The SR20 will never die. It is in too many vehicles world-wide. Too many tuners and enthusiasts loving the factory-overbuilt little engine that could. Look at how many folks stuff the motor into other chassis'. There is a shit-ton of the motors on the road, powering all kinds of different vehicles, and there will be for the forseeable next several decades.

That engine in that car is one of my favorite sports cars of all time. And you are off by about a decade on that date.

Some simple bolt-ons and you are well over 300 whp. 2,932 pound chassis.

It is a fact that Porshe de-tuned/restrained the 944 turbo in order to not overshadow the 911.

I hear ya. My buddy's Torino had a 351 Windsor big-block. We'd all chip in a buck or two, and have enough to cruise all night long.

I get 28-32 MPG, put down 160whp and the car is more than enjoyable and can crush a lot of other "newer" and "faster" and "better" models of cars currently.

You are crazy. 120whp is not enough. You want to keep it stock, that is fine.

VQman I will be trying to break into the 13s on street tires with a 2l DE. I am also going to be making at least 200hp out of a DE. I think you should follow my thread and build a similar motor as I know you love the DE as much as I do. 88mm is nice but I am not sure you really need that given your goals.

In saying that the SR20DE is the "small block chevy" of the Nissan world, I guess that it may be....but I think that the title for that really goes to the "A" series engines. Much smaller and lighter, I know, way older. I think the SR20 is the "big block chevy" of the Nissan world. When I got rid of my "A" stuff to put in a SR20 I was amazed at how big everything was.

I got into the SR game right out of high school. Loved my first SER, and now the SE-L is something I just can't get rid of.

I've learned, laughed, busted knuckles, and enjoyed every minute of it. And the rewards pay off. Now I am all grown up, but make enough money now to make my vision for this car take form. It's in my garage in pieces right now, but soon it will be back on the street and it will be one of the most rewarding journeys I have ever been on.

SR20 forever!

Jim, do you plan on running a highport, or lowport DE making 200whp? Stock intake manifold, or custom? I I'm guessing you going 88mm 12.5:1 with those goals lol.
