How old are you? In 1998, I remember paying .95c/gal, and I still had to look for nickles and dimes to pay for gas!

LOL, I was thinking that didn't sound right. I remember .99/gallon and it didn't seem that long ago.

The change laying around in the car could get me 1-2 gallons.

^Gas was $1.04 a gallon when I started driving.

^SR20 for life! I will always own at least (2) SR20 powered cars.

I went 15.0 with 133hp and my clutch was slipping in my first sr20 car, 200sx. I love my sr cars and will always own 1.

I went 14.20@91MPH in my 98 Sentra SE. Mild bolt ons.. Wasnt making much power 141 WHP on dyno.
But the key was slicks 1.9 60fts at the time I was a drag rat cutting .5xx lights all day.

Best time on street tires was 14.8

I meant to say 4 cylinder but left that off. Naturally say a GT500 would be a whole different ball game but the SR is good for what it is.

You're still smoking something fierce.

I had a 16.6s ET on my stock SE-R back in the day.

whatever, I had a 360 whp sr20det 11 second 240sx for 18 months and it never blew up and was running strong when I sold it so IMO they are the best turbo 4 out there. I hate SUbby boxers and I own a 2.o turbo VW motor in the Audi and the SR is still better than that.

Woah, now we're talking about turbo 4 cylinders?

1989-1991 Porsche 944 3.0 liter inline 4 cylinder twin cam. Simple 4 cylinder engine. Nothing fancy. 208hp at 5800rpm with 207ft pounds at 4100rpm. I'm sure there are even more powerful mass produced 4 cylinders that are "simple". Maybe the S14 engine from BMW's E30 M3? (This is in response to your naturally aspirated comparison.)

Comparing turbo engines of the time (not current Mitsu Evo engines and the like), I have got to give the 4 cylinder turbo crown to the Porsche 944 again. The Porsche 944 Turbo made 247HP and 243TQ in 1998 from a turbo four cylinder. An engine better in most ways compared to the SR20DET.

But we're not here to talk about Porsche I guess. :o
