Thread: Runnin super rich and wont run nor start

ok my girlfriend 1.6 xe has always started roughly....just turn the key and pump the gas pedal...she will start but takes a lil negotiation with the pedal...well us sr20 boys always been talkin bout it...took a look and noticed one the injectors sounded sluggish...so yesterday we replaced the lil pink 1.6 injectors with a used set or pink 1.6 inj....wldnt start even with negotiatin...smelled flooded...went and grabbed some ngk plugs and it finally started with pumpin the pedal...drove 3 mile and shut it off...no start...F***....so i said screw it...the spark looks crazy funny...i went and grabbed new cap and button...spark great started up...then it idled funny...adjusted the iacv and it idled ok...put it in drive and it died...wouldnt start....screwed with it..it started drove it for 5 mile then went in total sluggish mode...runnin crazy rich...pulled over and put stock inj back in and does the same thing.....car never gave us any problems for a year...freak 1.6....just dont understand...i think its maf...any ideas????

put a 20 in it

Could be the MAF. Is it throwing any codes? What condition are the spark plug leads in? It could be any number of things. But yea, put a 20 in it!

fuel pressure regulator may be going bad, try changing the fuel filter also. also check the coolant tem. sensor. it can cause you to run rich n have a funny idle if its going bad/bad.

ok so we put a diff maf on and nothing changed...and my other boy checked the spark on all four cyl at once and spark just isnt right....the coil is good and everythin but the dizzy has been changed... so we grabbed another dizzy cause my other friend said that there is some sort of spark module or somethin that coulda went bad

i would say fpr or the ignition switch overheating and causin it to run like shit. those are my 2 cents

ever get this straight? all 3 of my 1.6s did this. it ended up being a bad aac, i believe. its been a while since i messed with it. its the black sensor under the plenun. it closes with engine temp getting hot. if its stuck closed, ur not gettin the air u need for cold idle. then the fuel actually puts ur spark out, makin u think its a spark issue.
