that's weird. you guys should contact him if that's the case and just get a group buy started or something. the original header was built by burns stainless and had hours and hours of R&D and charles did a direct replica of it (with consent of course) so the header is killer.

Charles decided to "abstain" from SR20 goodies and discussions shortly after the header prototypes were built due to non-header related reasons. A GB idea was floating but at 600+ advance payment it did not fair really well. He is probably being compensated really well for his efforts by Honda people as we speak.

S, their main purpose is to reduce pumping losses (hence back pressure) within the primary pipes. Smaller pipe near the outlet ports enable high velocity near there and the step to a larger diameter keeps the gas flow up by reducing the pressure inside the pipe. If the stpes are designed at the proper places, they also amplify the tuned-exhaust pressure waves.

Since this is useful and it happens mostly at high rpm, it is used for enabling engines to keep up after the peak hp rpm point. Sort of extending the usable rev range.

Well, I question now whether or not I should scale back any truly active production/development for the SR20 people until the advertising is done and it's decided whether the thread should be handed over to someone that used to make them.

O.P....you got pm.

well shoot, if he isn't going to make them anymore, you should get in touch with him and ask him AND mike kojima (choaderboy2) if you can get the rights to make it. the thing is super bad ass.

^ his 4-1 vs the hotshot gen6

15 HP over a Gen 6!! And that header is sexy.

It would be nice if there was some collaboration on this project though...

A true Burns collector, lots of R&D, no large prebuy costs, and all for less than 600 or so bucks...what's not to like.

Everyone should email the guy and let them know that sqd set it all up on their behalf. I don't even own a Nissan, but a Burns designed/collectored header for that price.... I'll buy one.

I think $600 was the DEPOSIT. Down payment... Plus 30 year mortgage at 6.725% fixed, compounded daily.

:P

haha damnit. alright i will talk to kojima about it when i get a chance. would you be interested in fabricating it if it is approved?

I build my own stuff....I have my own design software, my own theories, and I do my own work. I wouldn't be interested in another persons design. I'm not SSAC or XSPower...no offense, I harness my own ideas.

I have to admit, I'm not sure what you've contributed to this thread though? You've stated that someone makes them, then that someone made them, then you lost the point that this entire effort was to make an AFFORDABLE header, not one that was developed by the most expensive header company on the planet (I'll concede that they do good work though) and will be priced accordingly.

If your intention was to bring about the design, yet plug another fabricator, that's fine. I would just assume that if that were the case though, then you should start another group buy thread on his behalf. I'd certainly think you should talk to the guy making it first though, before you start quoting prices and creating buy lists.
