ECU questions
I see a lot of questions about ECU's on the forum. Calum, JWT, swapping from one car to another. Has anyone used Haltech, Motec, etc?? I am trying to decide the best way and although the price of admission may be a bit higher it certainly seems that being able to tune on the fly has certain advantages to sending a unit back to (whomever) to get tuning upgrades done.

Any thoughts?

I never saw the appeal of Haltech or Motec when the AEM EMS stand-alone is PnP.

Nistune and TunerCode are real time / on the fly tuning options.

Same with Calum Real Time units. They can be tuned in real time.

Do you find the Haltech to suit your needs. I was offered a similar unit at a similar price and have been recommended against it. I thought that it looked like a pretty good deal and I guess I was just seeing if anyone else had experience with them.

Thanks

The e6x is one of there older model standalones, but it works great. There new model ecu's(like the ps1000) has alot more features such as launch control, turbo timer,etc.. The down fall is there 1800 dollar price tag.I dont really need the extra stuff, I just need something basic to get the job done. Ill save my self 1400 buck and stick with the e6x IMO

If you are wanting to install that sucker manually and not have a PnP and pay for those units (PS1000/aem) then why not a Sprint500. Its the new version of the e6X.

As long as you use high impedance injectors you are fine.
