If your on stock cams(and N/A) it would be pointless to rev the motor that high. Otherwise its a great upgrade

I have an sr20de with a "de-t conversion" i guess you would call it. I do however now have a turbonetics t3/t04e that i plan on putting on. still have a lot of work to do before i get to that though.

Now a quick ? for you guys. I also have the ECU running in my B14 with s4 cams. Does it matter if the rear o2 sensor is even hooked up to the cat? I know for sure it'll throw the check engine light on and possibly give you poor gas mileage regardless. I haven't had a problem yet and its been like that for about 3 years now. Or maybe I could just take the whole 15-20 min to drill out a hole so I can tap in the rear o2 sensor. Any inputs?

are you running an OBD1 or aftermarket cat or something?

No, its still OBD2 I believe. I do have the g20 ECU as well...I know for sure its running rich because of the black build up at the end of the muffler as well as the rear bumper where the exhaust outlet comes out. Ive had this beast for a while and just wondering besides Turbo and the regular maintenance on it, what else I can do to tune it. I want to make as much power as I can NA with my already upgrades. Complete bolt ons besides the thermal spacers along with the pulleys too. You guys think I should send my G20 ECU to get reprogrammed or tuned?

I think everyone needs to read se-r.net This stuff has been covered a million times years and years ago. With stock cams I wouldn't even rev to more than 6700 rpms and there really isn't a need to drive over 109mph on public roads but if you plan on switching cams it is a good upgrade. Swapping in a highport intake cam will make it much more worth it if you are short on cash. $100 total for ecu and cam and you will make around 5-7 whp more and have a much better powerband. Bump up your timing to 19-20* and you should see around 10whp total. Can't beat that for a buck. Slap a cheap ebay header and you should see around 10whp peak gain with a broader powerband. Add a short ram intake and for about $300 or so you will feel like you are driving a different car. Stop there and save for turbo or ve.

That was already my plan. Haha.
Looking for the highport cam as soon as I can afford it as well as the intake (My intake is ghetto shit, bought it as it is now, stock piping with a cone filter shoved into the end of the MAF housing)

Payment is already in the mail to squirlz for an SSAC header.

Also, when I posted this thread, I had just gotten my B14, and didn't know there was anywhere to go other than here, as this is where I was sent by a friend who also has a B14.
