Thread: g20 ECU in 200sx se-r?

I've been reading a bit on here that you can use the ECU from a G20 to get past the speed limiter and up the rev limit on the b14?

I have a 97 200sx se-r, will that work for me? Is it direct plug and play swap with the ECU or do I have to modify something to do so?

I've searched around here and can't find 100% answers.

Don't want to dish out the money for the G20 ECU if it's not going to help in my car, or if it wont work with my car.

Figure it best to ask people here who have already tried/done it.

yes, the 94-96 OBD2 ECU will work in your B14, it's complete plug and play.

Thank you. Will i need to change anything? I read something about needing a rear o2 sensor to avoid tripping the CEL?

If you have a B14, then you're obd2, therefore you already have a rear O2 sensor on your cat. You don't need to change anything.

Go ahead and buy it. Cant go wrong for the amount these go for. 7500rpm limit (will actually read about 7800rpm on your tach, because they are usualy off 300rpm) and no speed limit.

One reason the CEL may go on is if you buy an automatic ECU and your car is manual

Also, bout the rear o2 sensor thats for the 99 p11 ecu. Like me, if I would to put a 95-97 ecu in my 99 g20(since the 95-97 is the only ob2 ecu that can be tuned) I would have to switch out 2 pins. One for o2 sensor and other for egr. And I would have to use an older rear o2, and then I would have to re-route some egr hoses.
