I personally wouldn't. I did it way back thinking it would improve something and it didn't do anything in my experience. Now if you went through and tuned the car adding more timing and such, I would see a few extra ponies. Nothing worth the expensive ass amount you'll be paying especially if its just a basic bolt on DE. Again, just speaking from my experience many years ago, lol.
I used to run 100oct. in my Altima , but in order to make it usefull I would crank the timing way up , I ran it at 28 deg. with a JWT ECU ( stock is 20 ) ... ran about .1-.2 better that way ... Would do the same in an SR ... But its not going to help that much unless you bump up the timing a ways ...

I mix 100 unlead pump gas with the 91 pump gas we have here in Socal. Since my compression ratio is higher now with the SR16 pistons it helps a lot to make the car feel normal again. I use this guide to help me.
I will agree on the sport bike but if you have 16ve pistons in a 20 you are going to risk detonation and the extra octane whould help protect against that.
Ok, the higher the octane the harder it is for the fuel to burn. If your engine isn't set up to take advantage of this for example higher boost, higher timing, higher cyl temps, than this effectively makes less power than lower octane fuel. Ask rotary guys especially, the NA guys make more power on low octane since it more easily accessible power. Only reason any car would make more power by itself with higher octane like in the newer cars is more sophisticated electronics esp knock sensors.
