I think it'd be hard to tell what could be better about a particular Intake Manifold without flow testing it or putting it on a car and dyno tuning it and seeing what kind of gains you can get. ..

what sort of feedback are you looking for? it's cosmetic appeal?

But its all speculation till somebody try it...

hmm... i didn't think anyone had done it yet, as the 92mm head gasket is a new discovery.. and everyone's going 92mm bore on a VE motor.. interesting.. is he active anymore?

If i remember correctly, that was a stock bore, stock stroke engine. I think it was sr16 pistons with bc3 cams

Yah, it was 86 x 86 from what I remember too.

My 2.2L DE motor made 200 WHP in 1999

90mm pistons
stock crank
4 into 1 header 1.75 primaries 32in long with 2.5in collector
2.5 in mandrel bent exhaust
JWT ECU
JWT C3 cams
JWT valve springs and retainers
02 induction manifold
Bored DE MAF to 55mm
Bored DE TB to 60mm
3in intake piping
JWT Aluminum flywheel
JWT clutch
UR crank pully

I feel the motor would have made more WHP with new thing I have learned and things I was going to do. Mike K picked up about 15 WHP with the CM6 cams which I never tried. So I will make a list of what I think could have happend with a few changes to the SR22DE motor.

1. CM6 cams = 215 WHP
2. 3 inch exhaust = 220 WHP
3. 3 inch TB and 3 inch Maxima MAF = 225 WHP
4. header with shorter runners at 24 in long = 230 WHP

SR20DE motor up in displacemt to WHP average with C3 cams

2.190 ( 90mm bore x 86mm stroke ) = 200 WHP

2.286 ( 92mm bore x 86mm stroke ) = 215 WHP

2.450 ( 92mm bore x 92mm stroke ) = 237 WHP

SR20DE motor up in displacemt to WHP average with CM6 cams

2.190 ( 90mm bore x 86mm stroke ) = 215 WHP

2.286 ( 92mm bore x 86mm stroke ) = 230 WHP

2.450 ( 92mm bore x 92mm stroke ) = 252 WHP

My only question would be, how DD would CM6 cams be? I imagine they don't have much power below 3k or 4k RPM but I haven't looked at the power curves. Would a bigger displacement compensate in the lower RPM range?
