No, it doesn't really apply to this thread except that there's been some talk of using a VE head and that got me a bit confused.

My apologies to vqman for derailing the thread a couple times. I will try not to let it happen again.

Robchaos made 180-185whp with some old small header. With nice 4-1 header, good tune (he has JWT + SAFC), 2.3L 92x86, better headwork, maybe cams.. it should be very interesting.

But its all speculation till somebody try it...

not going to lie, i didn't even read half of it! LOL.

I understand why vq wants to do it to a DE and I also understand why everyone else says "just go ve." but, i wouldn't know which way to go myself.




iirc, the 180whp dyno was on a 2.5" SSAC. yes more power can be had with a better header, also his head was not ported. I think a 250whp DE is possible, but what do i know.

You're vq man, swap in a vq. Then you can shoot for 300's.

^^ a 300hp VQ will cost as much as a 300hp VE. well n/a of course.

Well, he can certainly reach 200 a lot faster.
