thanks for the good luck wishes, i can't imagine a kelford low-rpm lobe having the same lope at idle as a DE Brian Crower BC3 cam... Why would it? it would certainly take away the low end torque advantage offered by the smaller cam lobe... and that's what I want, regardless of it's ineffeciencies and the poorer head design of my proposed lowport head.

Thanks, but I am 95% sure that I'm going to be doing the DE first.. Maybe in a few years I'll do a VE build in another car.

the only reason we're beating a dead horse is because people can't get over the fact that I want to have a 92mm bore, big cam sr20D mother fucking E....

i don't care that the same amount of money would yield me about 500 hp if I went turbo, or 300 hp if I went VE.. I don't give a flying fuck.. that is too much power IMO for a FWD car anyway..

The kelford has way more lope than the BC3.

I know because I have run both cams

Not to mention more tq under 5k than most 2L's make HP.

interesting because everyone says a lopey idle means it's not tuned well.. and that makes sense as a big cammed DE with timing for top end power, of course it's going to lope more at idle...

how would a smaller cam lobe have a lopier idle if it were tuned right?

wait, if Robchaos made 181 on a 86x86 DE with , the 92x92 DE should yeld 248whp correct(per Andreas calculation if 15hp per .1 liter)?

originally, I wanted to do a custom VE cam that had an S4-like low lobe and a JWT C3-like high rpm lobe....

what is the kelford cam's low lobe stats? how much lift/duration?

i won't be going with the 92 mm crank though.. I will be keeping a stock RR 4cw crank..

The low lobe on a 184c is not that small.

There are threads discussing all of this.
