You assume incorrectly.

For your goals I would say a 90x86 VE with kelfords will make more sense.

May also work out cheaper.

The DE just makes no sense imho.

VE's can be had for under $800 and the head in stock for will out perform a mild ported DE head.

For a decent port and competition valve job you will be over the cost of a VE.

The VE block has the oil squirters that you already need. I could go on forever with reasons why you are moving backwards doing it with a DE but it your money and time that you will be wasting.

Goodluck.

for my B13, my "goal" is not 200 or 225 HORSEPOWER to the wheels, the goal is 200 or 225 big bore/big cam DE horsepower..

it has a totally different feel to it than the more refined VE motor... the point isn't to get the most bang for my buck..

there are millions of ways to attain 200-225 horsepower, including of course completely different motors.

I want the caveman-like big lopey idle, regardless of the fact that it's inferior to a VE...

You have yet to drive or hear a kelford Cam big bore motor..

Again, good luck with your goals.
