think tank - vqman's N/A Big Cam SR23DE Build 92x86
I need to know how to build a 2.3 or 2.4L DE with BC3, C3 or S5 cams with this RR block I have... Do i want a lowport head for best airflow?
i want to keep square or slightly oversquare on my combustion chamber...
what are my best options for crank & pistons if I want a 2.4L DE. Do I need to sleeve my cylinders on an RR motor at 2.4L?? is that 30 over and a big friggin crank to obtain 2.4L??
the reason I want DE N/A power is because I like the lopey idel associated with heavily cam'd DE and I don't want the hassle of a Turbo and all the tuning and constant maintenance that seems to go with it.. a VE would be great.. but I'd lose my lopey idle.. UNLESS a custom cam was built with S3.5 - S4 like low lobe and S5 like (or greater) high lobe.
obviously i'd be raising compression with the larger crank, but when boring it out, doesn't that take away some of the would-be added compression?
of course my DE will need some tuning.. but it seems to take less time than turbo, right??
200-215 bhp to the wheels would be a goal.. ASP header, lightened flywheel, yada yada..
can someone point me to a thread that covers this? i've been reading and reading ... and can't get definitive answers..
Sarah Forst! where are you my darling!?!?
oh, did I mention I want this to be a reliable DD with lopey idle and 200+ hp to the front wheels??
