Thread: what cr would make an n1 piston on a low port sr20DE?

theres a friend of mine that has a 98 200sx low port and want's to put the n1 or sr16 piston on it,also he asked me wich cam's would be more suitable for a combination like that?i told him that s4's are the people favorites...
and what cr would make each one of them???

Let's see what numbers get tossed up.

12.3:1 and 11.7 or 11.8:1 are the options.

SR16VE Pistons would be 11.7:1.
N1 Pistons lower than that, so should be of little interest.

S4s are fine, but if he is going all out and to make good use of the 11.7 compression, get some C3 cams or cheap out with BC STG3. Both need springs though.

so in a high cr 20DE engine...wich cam profile is better or people look for??? more lift or more deg.dur in comparisson??

look also for adjsutable cam gear since all sr love tigh lobe center (overlap)

IMHO go with some jwt C2s. They will make more power than S3/S4 after 5k.

S4 are great drop-in cams. It all depends on tuning. With good cam gears setting and ecu tune C2 will be great.

So nobody thinks the C3 are good cams for high CR?
