Has anyone put C2's or C3's into an Autech sr20de yet? I wonder what the valve clearance is like. I wouldn't mind a set of one of these cams in mine but I have more important things to do first (exhaust etc).

Valve clearance is great, even with C3's.
You all need to join up on AOC, all this has been done lol...

Valve clearance is poor, no doubt about it.

I thought it was well known the SR20DE likes tight lobe seperation and a big exhaust with bigger cams, the stock SR20DE with C3's runs out of P2V clearance before cam timing is optimised. All testing ive seen with C3's shows them run out P2V clearance before power stops increasing.

Same goes for the C6M cams, not enough P2V clearace to get them to their optimal setting.

You can run C3's straight up in an unopened Autech GTi SR20DE (as long as you use uprated valve springs), clearance is essentially the same a a regular SR20DE. The Autech head has a 1mm headskim, but has 1.3mm piston valve reliefs to offset this. So you can run +5/-5 like you would in any other DE.

Really to get the most out of the C3 or C6M cams, something like the CP 12.5:1 VE pistons with their deep reliefs would be perfect.
