I think RR head does not flow that well... VE is another story.

I prefer highport over RR too. But i would like to play little more with RR and see what happens.

I don't know which give more power : lower friction from the roller or better flow of the high port ? RR have a smaller combustion chamber and i think that for a N/A set-up it's better .no?

lots of RR talk, anyone ever raised the redline? does it make power above 7k without custom cams?

there was also a company in Poland making cams for th RR widely used by the euro p11 crowd, just checked their site and they dont have any in stock but they can make them on special order.

You need to change the valve spring first to raise the rev. on a RR with their softer, low friction spring

Where did you hear highport flows better? Flow bench has shown otherwise.

Smaller combustion chamber means higher compression... Flow has to do with ports and valves.

Aftermarket cams and BC dual springs with VE retainers... Yes works great.

This thread IS about RR... So that would explain the RR talk.

Then RR should be great engien with highport cams (JWT S4, etc.) and whatever else is needed (valves, springs,..).

in N/A engines the things are not that simple, has anyone see a head of racing BMW 2000 from the 70s ?
it made 200hp the ports are small an stright, the attack angle of the flow is crucial, in low port its wrong by default and cannot be changed
if someone has seen the motorcycle head it looks like a small highport head
so high port has the right angles and design to create more power also it has better band
where is robocanos ? ? i belive he has the most powerfull DE and is highport

It is cool to learn from you rnd2k.

I have used same cams in RR and highport... RR made more power... Many people also take the intake cam out of highport and put in lowport to make more power N/A. Plenty of examples. Just because people have spent more time and money on highport than lowport to make more power doesn't make it better. You got more done than guy who just post his RR setup dyno... Compare them and tell me how much more you make than him.

Keep educating me. Your BS is endless. That expains why the VE is so good N/A and used the highport design.
