Exactly, just hearing the POP makes me get a little fix. I really wish I had my own. "One day, she will be mine"

I guess you're on the high 14's now, what was your best time before the new exhaust?

I am cloning your exhaust.

Already discussed with Wifey. Orders to be placed on Monday, shipped directly to my mechanic Mike.

Done deal. Thanks for the extensive documentation.

When I had just a cold air intake, I ran 15.4. I know I beat my buddy in high school with his stock WRX vs my stock 200SX SE-R. Guy dropped a load in his pants and I told him he doesnt know how to launch an AWD car properly. Shit was funny!

I have not been down to Maple Grove since 2005. I better be in mid 14's.

@Shawn B. No problem my friend. Do yourself a favor and make your stock exhaust all banged up, put holes in it so it sounds like shit then the effect of the new exhaust will make it seem quieter. I know when I went from stock to full exhaust, it seemed like it was louder than fucking hell. But this time, I had an aftermarket exhaust with HUGE holes in it so the new exhaust seemed super quiet. Even though the new exhaust is not quiet like stock, it was WAY quieter than my old system with holes in it.

Or if you dont wanna put holes in it, you will notice it will be louder! Much louder, but it will be a nice louder, not a bullshit raspy, Honda, rice, fart can louder.

A few updates on this system.

1. I used the gaskets VRS supplied to me. Both of them failed at individually times and began leaking AKA farting or whispering. I replaced both of them with Nissan OEM gaskets and no more leaking. This did not happen to me the first time around, they clearly switched suppliers.

2. The slip-fit joint is having a difficult time staying fit. I used the C-clamp supplied to me and it would not crush the stainless steel. Now I tried using a Vibrant 1 inch band clamp (Part number 1166) and that did not crush the system. I will try a few more ways of getting it together before I resort to welding.

I think I can make it work by changing the orientation of the Vibrant clamp that is on there now. Right now, I have the clamp just hanging over the edge of the larger pipe. I think if I place the majority of the clamp on the smaller diameter pipe, it will allow better clamping or at least, hold the gases inside the clamp. After that, I will try cutting small slits in the larger diameter pipe to give it room to be squeezed by the clamps.

Stainless steel is much nicer than aluminum, just more difficult for me to get a slip-fit joint to stay put! Any ideas would be appreciated, as long as it does not involve welding. The idea of my exhaust is each and every piece is individually able to be replaced without the use of expensive v-band clamps.

Yeah I would cut 2 slits in the larger diam pipe. I had to do that with my downpipe to cat pipe. So go ahead and do that and it should be a lot better.

Lube it up with some copper based exhaust gasket maker, as well as the aforementioned slits.

^^^That's what I did on my 3" stainless setup also - ultra copper with a stainless band clamp.
Only had to tighten it once after 4k miles.
It has been fine for 50k+ miles.
However, I used a much wider style clamp, more like vibrant 1171, by it was a dynomax, maybe, can't remember.
There are different wider band clamps - some are for clamping same size tubing, others are for slip fit (like 2.5" OD to 2.5" ID).
