So has anyone done a 2.2 or 2.4 liter that makes 275 whp? Would like to see that dyno graph.
Certainly it could be done, and for a lot less $$ than 15k but remember that these cars ran foot to the floor for 45 minutes at a time. We run foot to the floor for 12 to 16 seconds at a time. If you tried to drive the car the same way that they did you would either be 1) In jail, 2) In a tree somewhere, 3) Passed on prematurely.
The point is the components are much different than what are used for street. The dry-sump pump is probably about 4K US alone. (Looks like a 4-stage scavenge with a centrifuge and a single stage pressure) not necessary for the street but to continually pull the 1.5g corners and bounce the curbs like these guys do you would lose oil pressure in an instant with the stock pan. I imagine it has Cosworth or similar rods and pistons. (Easy 2K). How do they get the right stroke? Billet crank to the custom stroke.
