The DET cams have the same exact specs as the DE, that's why I asked and the DET has the VTC on it from what I can tell.

If you are talking about the S4's, that is because they are the same cam. JWT did not make a grind of cams to work with VTC of your engine.

BC, however, does.

Yes, but turbo cams and N/A cams are not the same anyway, how about valve open / closing events and ramp angles? I bet you these are not the same, especially aftermarket cams, if stock cams are equal on all that then shame on them (then why swap your cams for DET cams?).

If you are talking about fitting Stock S14 DET cams just to keep VTC, do you really think these cams will outpower the S4 even without VTC? I honestly cannot believe so.

Anyway, you already said you had decided on S4 and you wont regret it I tell you, just change the dowell pin from the S14 cam and swap it to the S4.

I was refering to the JWT S4 cams being the same for the DE/DET.

Yes, as far as I know, they are DE cams most suitable for N/A, not Turbo DET.

People do use them for Turbo, but mostly FWD DE+T or AWD DET, for RWD they modify the pin and thats it, also no GTi-R. They set the cam gears to INT -5 / EXH +5 for turbo too as a start point.

S4's won't work with vtc unless modification is made I personally would just get cams meant for VTC

Exactly
