The picture speaks for 1000 words :-) Thank you a lot. (And btw that is one a clean engine!)

I'll let you all know once it is done.

the oil filter housing will indeed work on a highport. the power steering pump will have to be highport btw because there is a difference between the two.

We will use the oil filter housing from my old engine as metinoned above. And you are true, the power steering pump WILL HAVE TO BE from highport, as the RR block was stripped and there was no alternator, power steering or A/C pump.

good to hear - I had a bitch of a time switching between the two. BTW the oil filter on the rr, if you have it, is much better for 2 reasons:
1) easy access, the highport one is a bitch and I hate it, the lowport is easy to grab, change, and no mess!
2) Bigger oil filter - longer and better.

your call, but I switch to a rr/ve oil filter bracket on all my highport cars to save the hassle.

I believe that's the water jacket discussed above - I will use the ones from my old engine.

Thats true, I changed the oil myself last time and the oil filter was not easy to get out.... and that was without the A/C pipes which are now present, but I thought I can't use the RR oil housing & filter because it won't fit with the highport intake manifold, as swiss said.

(sorry swiss!) he's wrong. I have firsthand proof that it will fit when I tried to retrofit a highport to work in a rr car.

So we decided to go with the RR housing and filter and we will use water pipes from the highport head, the car should be up and running in the end of the week, I'll let you know.
