hello my SR20DE build
hello guy's I'm looking at this forum from a long time i got a lot of useful stuff and knowledge from you guy's i want to thank you to everyone here about sharing the info.
I'm from Bulgaria and i have a P10 eGT its a European spec with redtop and 10:1 highport engine, this car work only with MAF from the factory so no lambda and catalytic converter, the engine is rebuild and has 30k km now.
i've jwt s3 cams, thermal spacers ( all hot water removed from intake mani awesome cheap mod it really works ), ssac header and straight exhaust with resonator, CAI with KN panel filter and stock airbox because cone filters not work with non lambda cars, i also have UR crank and wp pulley and advanced timing tha car has now 160whp also those first red top highports are a lot a lot more powerful than later lowport redtops
here i'll post my next build up high CR pistons, port/polish the head and installing the GTIR ITB's i want to run that setup with the stock ECU

Cheers and welcome. Why do you say that about the redtop highport vs the redtop lowport? With the same mods on a stock ECU, you would think the lowport would have the edge because of the head design. I have a highport 10.1 redtop.

welcome! Nice to see you have a lot of work under your belt! take lots of photos, and let's see them!

i've compete with many lowport redtops some of them with more mods than mine and i beat them with a lot, also i've tested mint condition lowport redtop with s3, fidanza flywheel, headers, full exhaust vs stock high port redtop and the highport won the no-cat redtop has much flexible ecu and run rich and can be made to run richer with a resistor on the maf sensor
i also dont know why people here think lowport has better head design i've inspected both heads and highport is a lot better with larger, longer more straight and direct ports, maybe usdm highports are different
( a good joker is to move the injectors a bit backwards, its bad for ecology but good for the car lol i did that on my car and i got sharper more instant low end torque )

i'm on a vacation now in new york city, i'll return in october and i'll post pics of the car engine and itb's i also ordered N1 pistons from gregV but i'll wait for them about 2 months

^Well my highport is a UKDM, so that includes the USDM part. I would like to see a bench flow test on a UK lowport vs a UK highport since you brought that up. I don't see why NISSAN would go through the trouble to make two different designs for the highport. Glad you are here and I can't wait to see pics bro.

Interesting what you said about the cone filters not working as well with non-o2 sensor equipped cars... I'm not sure I understand the logic here, since the lambda sensor should be on the exhaust manifold. The cone filter should do nothing more than remove any airbox restriction (just as your K&N panel filter does). Unless the MAF sees so much turbulence from a cone filter, I'm stumped!

dude belive me i've tested the car with KN cone CAI the car revs better but lose a lot of torque i feel it weak and it was, after that i've tested the BLITZ filter after that i take off the filter and run in only with stright tubes ( headlight removed ) and it just revs, after i put the stock airbox the car gone crazy again also i removed the ribbed part ( after the maf ) and was worse too, thats it because the intake mani design i did a test when the air goes into manifold with higher velocity, the cylinders are feed unequally the 1st cyl gets a lot more air than the 4th so thats why the hose is ribbed to slow down the air that comes into intake

the logic behind lambda/cone filter is that if you put cone the air is too much and there is no back connection (lambda) to indicates that the mixture is lean

that's my explanation i'm not 100% sure about it, i just explain it to myself that way

I really dont get point with o2 sensor/ cone filter... 160whp - is it dynoed or your guess? Are you going with N1 or CP pistons?
You will rather get S4 over S3. S4 are much better...
GTiR ITBs with stock ecu? No tuning? It wont work properly.. anyway this mod sux, its proven. There are better ways to spend money on engine.

dude i dont know why cone does not work for me, actually it wont work for any car i know. if you follow the logic the car must run best without any filter but it wont, its slower maybe there is some hp gain in top end but when you change from 2nd to 3th the lag is greater.
about the cams i also have S4 but S3 has more mid range torque. i'll install N1 nissan pistons
why you think GTIR itb's are stupid mod ? ? ? i want to gain low-mid torque not a peak hp, also they're the cheapest ITB's for SR20 and fits without many other mods i got them from the UK ebay fully equipped for ~160$
