Well I plan to build something similar this fall/winter, but I am using a DE 53j block sr16 pistons, eagles H-beam rods, ACL ace bearings, cosworth studs, VET head gasket, s4 or c2 cams, bc s/r's, jwt cam gears if needed, charles 4 to 1 header, 3" exhaust, a direct port 150 shot of nitrous, caulm r/t ecu tuned for the above. I am expecting well over 300whp and more torque on the spray and probably about 220whp off the spray, so it should be a pretty leathal set-up. I still have to find a shell for it, maybe a b13 if I can find a clean enough one........

anyway we will see.
Goodluck with your build and your going to need nitrous or boost to achieve the numbers you want.

You should pick up Nissan rod/main bearings and get the WPC treatment done to them. Send out your pistons/rings for the same treatment. It shouldn't cost more then spending for just ACL stuff. The WPC treatment can be done by teammfactory.com.

Here you go (based on a 53J block)

JWT C3 cams
Cam Sprockets
Valve springs
Titanium retainers
Rocker Stoppers
A very good Headwork (valve job, port & polish, etc)
ASP Custom header
3" exhaust all the way back
GTiR ITBs with velocity stacks
440+cc injectors
Walbro 255 LPH fuel pump
Upgraded Ignition (MSD, Crane Cams, Mallory, etc)
Lightweight flywheel
Lightweight Pullies
SR16VE Pistons and rings
Stand Alone EMS (Haltech, Motec, Microtech, etc)
Upgraded Clutch (Exedy, Nismo, etc)

Everything else stock...

Saludos,

All that sounds great exept the c3's( need some dd ability, so I would go with some c1's or s4's), Standalone( to much money, a calum r/t will be fine) Remember I am on a budget, and the itb's( personally I think there a waste. Rather just tap a sr20ve manifold for direct port instead.

Oh and a sr16ve tranny with a 95 g20 5th gear!

And thats it for me!

s4's isnt going to get you 220whp. stock bore and stroke isnt gonna get you 220.

go with 88mm 12:5:1 pistons on the stock sleeve with a 88mm hg. head work. s&r and a hugge cam. charles header.

other wise 220 is a pipe dream on stock dimensions.

stratton.

You know I was hoping with 11:1 and race gas it could happen, but I guess not. I still think it will make over 200whp. Now with 12.5:1 220whp should be easily attained. Along with the other supporting mods mentioned.

We still need a big hp intake manifold........

Everyone else has given you some good starting points. You need to get heavy on the research though man. I mean if your not the type that wants to build it yourself then please research so your builder doesn't scam the hell out of you. I'll admit that back in my younger days I was a seriously dumb ricer. From just picking up Sport Compact when it was good, and reading through this forum and the original Sr20 forum I learned a whole lot. I've gone from being totally clueless to having full confidence in being able to put a motor together. Whatever I don't know at this point I know I can find the answers to. I'm also lucky to know some professional mechanics so their info also helps me out.

The research pays off man. It just makes you better at this whole car game.

My own personal advice. Forget about building the motor. Street power can't really be fully exploited without breaking laws. Get a fun suspension, some track worthy tires, join up with a track day club and hit your nearest road course. You'll have more fun then you thought possible with stock power.

I need to rebuild the motor, so I figured I would put some extra goodies into it. I did want it to be an auto cross car too, so I have been thinking just keep everything stock, but forged, with a VE head swap, still leaving room to do work afterwards. Then suspension was next on the list. After that I would probably try putting a turbo setup together.

I guess I'm trying to move too fast.
