Not sure why he does this, as he doesn't normally dumb things down to that degree, but he's created a lot of confusion that seems to live and breath these days. This isnt something that ive just hopped on from reading Kojima's article, this is something ive heard of since the day i bought my first se-r, also being had two sr20 powered cars since the first one i am now on my fifth transmission, and my cars never put out anything over 140whp, now im not saying my transmissions ever went out the same way as they typically do when you over power them (cracked case, blown diff, several fifth gear popouts) but versus other transmissions ive encountered their not worth power...now im not denying that the transmission cant hold 300whp+ but it depends on how youre driving it, i dont think Mike would have advertised a known weak trans as exactly how it is, and thats probably to give some kind of cushion...not everybody shifts gently or babies their transmission, and for those that like to hammer the gears to the limits and clutch drop and etc they more than likely can expect to see the lower end of the spectrum when it comes to transmission longevity
and yes understandably, horsepower isnt going to break the transmision, torque will
