judging from your questions you wont be doing anything on this car just blowing money. just keep the de in there and drive the car because you will not make 300hp all motor(i dont even know if it would be possible) jun didnt even make that on the ve that he had built

I will be having a shop build it because they will have to guarantee a running motor. I don't want to f it up. But my budget will need to include many more things, like an ecu either from jim wolf tech, or send mine into calum sult. Probably alot more things that I will run into, like missing parts off of my car, due to my brother using things his sentra needed. so.....

I want the high compression pistons. I basically want to build the block.

You're on CRACK if you think a shop will guarantee a running motor. Most shops ONLY guarantee/warrantee first start ups, and no further. That's why they're PERFORMANCE shops. Your fault for modifying the car, they just did what you asked them to do.

all the while i wish you the best of luck because ive been down this road, and once i laid it all out on paper...it never was worth it to get past that

Another false statement. Our transmissions handle well over 500hp. Show me hard evidence in which a B13/14/P10/11 tranny is prone to failure if over 300hp.

OP -

If you want 300whp out of an SR, you had BETTER turbocharge it. No if's ands or buts. Otherwise, go to Honda Camp and build yourself a K series.

The closest ANYONE has been to 300whp N/A has been from one of Jun's client's cars. 268WHP IIRC.

i stand corrected....what i meant was they tend to get weaker...b15 lsd would be his best bet in any case

For a quick all motor car, get the sr20VE motor and sr16ve tranny. Later, if you want more power, then add turbo or nitrous. Just don't spend money on a usdm sr20de please. It's a waste of money and time.

SR20VE
N1 Cams
MSD
Valve Springs & Retainers
Header
3" exhaust
100 shot of nitrous.

Done.

Dont bother with an SR20DE unless you want to turbo it.

From what I've seen, the problem seems to stem from Mike Kojima's articles. He's always under-rating the holding power of the transmission (which I don't argue against. I know why he does it) but that's just it, he speaks of how much power it will hold. Not sure why he does this, as he doesn't normally dumb things down to that degree, but he's created a lot of confusion that seems to live and breath these days. If only he'd mentioned torque in his descriptions long ago (and recently) we'd have a better educated bunch of parrots around here.

This isnt something that ive just hopped on from reading Kojima's article, this is something ive heard of since the day i bought my first se-r, also being had two sr20 powered cars since the first one i am now on my fifth transmission, and my cars never put out anything over 140whp, now im not saying my transmissions ever went out the same way as they typically do when you over power them (cracked case, blown diff, several fifth gear popouts) but versus other transmissions ive encountered their not worth power...now im not denying that the transmission cant hold 300whp+ but it depends on how youre driving it, i dont think Mike would have advertised a known weak trans as exactly how it is, and thats probably to give some kind of cushion...not everybody shifts gently or babies their transmission, and for those that like to hammer the gears to the limits and clutch drop and etc they more than likely can expect to see the lower end of the spectrum when it comes to transmission longevity

and yes understandably, horsepower isnt going to break the transmision, torque will
