Thread: Going VVL. Trying to decide on a clutch.

From what i hear you can't throw to heavy of a clutch is these cable transmissions. Right now I am ordering everything I need to do the swap. Currently I am running a Exedy Oem replacement clutch and a Fidanza flywheel. What would be a good setup to run that is not to aggressive but will hold up.

Depends. I did track days, and almost no drag racing (maybe once a year), and I loved my set up; JWT PP and B15 disc.

I also never had to tear down my transmission every 6 months from broken clutches...

i run act hd pp and stock b15 clutch

Exedy racing stage 1 pressure plate and b15 disc

I have the exact setup and it holds great bolt-on de on a 75 shot!!!! and never any slipping or broken clutch disk.

its really not a cable issue, the weak arm that holds the cable flexes and makes clutch engauagement(sp?) tough, i have a TrannyBracket from Miko and that thing works awsome. in using an ACT HDPP and sprunk 6puck on my DE and its a smooth as butter

I'm using a resurfaced flywheel, ACT Full face clutch and ACT HD PP as well.

I got a full exedy stage 1 clutch. But you need to get that tranny bracket from Miko for any aftermarket PP

This kit has the PP I suggested. I didn't suggest the kit because the TOB and disc failed on me. The PP kicks ass though.
