you can take apart your HLA and make then SLA with some shims. It is a bit more comples then that but has been done for se-r cup cars for a long time. search on freshalloy for a thread called the diesel shim solid lifter or something to that effect.
Basically you shim the inside to make it a solid and then use .001 and .002" shims to raise and lower the SLA to get a clearance of .014-.020 IIRC on int and I dont remember the exh when hot. I have the gtir FSM and it stated it. That way is much cheaper, or you can buy tomei or HKS is better.

C6M is a big boy fo sho, racing apps only

C1 if yoo dont mind buying springs

Look into other brands also, dont just follow the JWT herd. Not saying dont buy JWT, just look at all options 1st. And the RWD and FWD cams are all interchangable. ONly cant use SLA cams on HLA's

Yes, but Hydralic lifters which is the standard type does not need to be checked and serviced. So that makes you right.

A solid lifter setup should be checked every 30,000 miles so its no biggie

that what i figured with th hydra vs solid lifters, and true even if you were running the solid lifters 30k would be a seemingly long time for a car that is probably only track driven and maybe some street with that big of setup i would think at least

solids are nice to have fo sho, but loud. Adjustment on the HKS gtir style are really easy. Tomei are too, but not as easy IMO.

maybe not in the FWD crowd, but we make mad power with them in RWD.

Anyway I was referring to the HKS solid lifters which are the same as the rnn14 solids, where you shim the inside of the SLA, unlike the tomei where you shim the top of the valve on the shim and guide.

FWD and RWD definetly have different schools of thought. With RWD we rarely use any JWT stuff except a few use s4 and C1 cams. Most people use HKS cams, tomei solid cams and BC cams with great success. And we dont use JWT ROM tunes, we use enthalpy. Although if calum supports it, a calum realtime would be nice for the RWD crowd to get into.
