Sick of SR20's fuel injector rail... need somethin else...
Yup, i post my complaint here cos i gotta ask what i can get instead just later... so here it goes:

THE STOCK HIGHPORT SR20DE FUEL INJECTOR RAIL SUCKS BIG TIME!!!

i hate the fact that every time i try to take the injectors out the stock bolts just collapse, it's a pain in the bottom end just to try and get those suckers out without damaging the injectors... then try prying out the injectors themselves... i've searched for all the possible ways, even used mikos tip and it's still damn hard... don't know if it's got something to do with mexican gas... climate... bad luck what ever... i need something else....

what options do i got?...

do roller rocker top feed injectors drop right in into the highport's intake?...

any sugestions...

thanx in advance!

Buy a spare fuel rail (~$20) to put the new injectors in, then if you need to put the stockers back, you just swap rails.

Roller Rocker injectors are side feed. They will fit in a highport rail, but the RR rail won't fit on the highport intake manifold.

CA18DET has some topfeed injectors, but you'd need a top feed fuel rail for them.

I may have a SARD rail for a highport available for you...

i thought there were 2 tipes of rails for the RR, the top and the side feed...

im open to aftermarket as long as it in a respectable price range... since i've got to pay a LOT of shipping...

Doc, Fernando is correct. The USDM models had topfeeds while pretty much all overseas models had sidefeeds.

Fernando, why are you having so much injector troubles? You've already had to change them once and now again? Are you sure it's the injectors?

Injectors do sometimes go bad, but it seems to be a semi-rare occurance with these cars.

i'ts been in diff rails.... not quite all belonged to me... probably diff injectors in mexico?.... probably they're affected by the bad fuel?... i really dont know.. i do know the climate here where i live is terrible for plastics so maybe the orings go bad... what ever... the thing is that i really don't wanna mess with this type of injectors no more... so im looking for an alternative

interesting. Never knew that about the USDM models. Are the injectors the same size? I've never seen that before.

I wonder why they changed it?

Fernando I usually grip the bolts holding the caps of the injectors with a "side cutter" or "wire cutter", cause yes those phillips heads strip very easily.

The injectors I normally pop out by using a flat head screwsriver to lever them out from below the clip that the injector plug goes onto.
