rattle rattle rattle - not timing tensioner
Just replaced my timing tensioner. The car still makes that weird rattle sound coming from around the pullies area. Is it possible to have the timing chain so stretched on my nx that the tensioner no longer fully engages the plastic thing?

Check alt bracket/tensioner bolts etc.

Check your AC compressor. It could be your AC clutch wheel going bad. Easiest way to check if one of your accessories is going bad is to simply remove both your fan belts and see if the rattling stopped.

jeez I thought that was dangerous to do that with the belts off - i guess the batt can hold idle and stuff for a short time - will report back.

couldnt be the a/c, there's no belt going to it

ha ha I freaked out because after I replaced the tensioner, the car revved to 2500 rpm - turns out I forgot to put the throttle cable back (i had tucked it aside, causing tension on the cable thus the rpm increase ba ha
