ga16de mods
ok guys here my setup.....sr20de tb on ga16de but u must port the ga16 manifold for more flow.........i mean right way the tb sitting... u just have to open it up some more...... the car revs faster........i remove my auto tranny & move to 1.5 manual tranny which would give me more power through my gears (for the 1/4) i have proof....i leave sr20de and go.....gt20valve also........most of them.........ngk bkr 6 work best i fine.....17 deg timing.....heres a little trick to the maf... the ga16de maf has 3 wire......strip the two outer wire & put a resistor across them...resistor (orange orange red with gold band) that make the car more responsive......it revs really good.........also add a direct round from battery to the head...... thats was my set up.......i move to sr20de now which i turboed & running strong

^With a lightweight flywheel, pulleys, advanced timing, CAI, stock clutch kit will do fine, and a header! This would be a nice little GA!

^What are the specs of the cams you used, vs the OEM cams. It might be old, but it's still good to have on this forum. The GA16 don't get much love over here.

About the GA with all motor setup my friend put 163.2whp on GA16DS, this engine is carburated and come with 93hp at the flywheel. The setup is:
- P&P head. (No flow test)
- Twin 40/40 mikuni carbs.
- Custom regrind cams. (i think is 280' / 350")
- Other engine pistons. (12.0:1 CR) Nissan CA16DE pistons.
- Custom 4-2-1 header, design by a local mechanical.
- 2" exhaust. (He change the exhaust for 2.25" but never dynoed this.)
- 13lbs flywheel.
The problem with this setup is the tune, he have problems with the distributor, he can't tune the timing correct and the carbs not support the same a/f tune...

160whp is a lot! I read somewhere owner destroyed a few engines. Is the car still running?

Btw. aftermarket distributor didnt help?

Yep, 2 years to 8.2k and still alive!!! He have MSD 6a with blaster coil because the OEM vacuum distributor is bad for tune and not work fine for the setup. He have use parts and custom DIY parts, nothing special...

More info please - engine pics, how carburators mounted to head, CA16 pistons just drop in or need modding, any 1/4 mile times etc. etc.

Its one of my dreams to build NA with carburators.

I believe he run 14.7 @ 97mph on a 4 door B13 with weight reduction.
