well you can't give ACT a poor review right away, i was making 400whp 370tq back a few years ago on a ACT and held it for quite some time until the rear seal blew out and oiled up the clutch and everything...the next one i got was not as nice and didn't take the punishment as did the first...one clutch i will highly recommend that you DO NOT buy is competition clutch, put one in a customers car and it wouldn't hold anything over 368whp/330tq made on a VE-T @12lbs...invest in the clutchmasters unit, i have a twin disk and so does that customer and man let me tell you, it is awsome...all in all-act is good for some things but thier quality is not there anymore either so i can agree and disagree with you guys

good luck

I tried to get this clutch kit b4

Fidanza Clutch - 4.3 Performance Clutch - yOparts.com | Wholesale Performance Autoparts - Turbo Parts - Suspension Parts - Engine Parts - Wholesale Autoparts Club

but Fidanza didnt have materials to make the springs so had to get a refund. Ordered another one yoparts.com and they (Fidanza) said they are out of stcok and wont make any until 4 weeks time.

Damn, Guess I am not supposed to get it. It was the same kit I was supposed to get when I used the ACT that I showed the damaged disc in a previous post.

I chose this one instead:

SPEC Clutch Kit - Stage 3 - yOparts.com | Wholesale Performance Autoparts - Turbo Parts - Suspension Parts - Engine Parts - Wholesale Autoparts Club.

Any reviews from this site on Spec Clutch kits. So far I have seen some decent reviews.

Peace

I would stay away from Spec clutches, I've heard their failure rate is similar to ACT

Don't put ACT in the same boat as Spec. ACT makes some good stuff. JGY clutches are the suk. I'll totally be ordering Clutchmasters again for my next clutch.

Exedy is the OEM iirc. Good stuff.

What do you mean?

This is what happened to my ACT kit after about 3 months. And I dont drive the car everyday:

I must say that ACT pressure plates are good though. And I never had a problem with ACT solid centre discs.

Peace

Clutch Masters or JWT clutches for the win.

I stopped using ACT because I had a series of clutches that made me take the tranns in and out a few times. They had faulty presure plates that would not disengage or the disengagment moved around with the temp of the car. Lately I have not seen that problem but I have seen discs falling apart from them

Spec clutches just suck in my opinion.

If I had a VE I would run a JWT presure plate and B15 disc or the half metal half organic disc from JWT.

I just got a ClutchNet disc, it looks great. I wont know how well it holds up after a few hundred miles though.
