A Silicone will not survive at the under-wrap temperatures, they top out at about 300 Centigrade, above that they just turn to quartz.

How hard you guys think it would be to wrap one installed on the car? I've always thought about doing this, and now that I have a seperate daily driver I could take my time.

Very tricky as there is not much room to pass the whole roll through some of those gaps as you wind it.

Most of the gaps would be the same whether on the motor or not. I can remove anything mounted around it easily.

So I went ahead and bought the DEI silicone spray. It is Hi-Temp 1500* silicone. It comes in different colors (black and white I believe). It actually goes on the wrap. So I will coat the headers with VHT ceramic coating, wrap them and then paint them with the silicone. It says that it helps protect and seal the wrap. I'll try it and report back.

I did this on my ss auto chrome header and it was a pain in the arse but it is possible. The ss auto chrome is difficult to wrap because the runers was so close it was hard to get the wrap in certain areas. I had to calculate how much I was going to use per runner cut it from the roll then wrap from there.

Yeah I thought I might have to do it that way. Got any pics of yours?

Did a little searching and found this on Summits site.

They do not sell the spray separately, only with the kits on Summit. I think this is a good idea to protect the header. They also say do not pressure wash your header with the wrap on as well.

I think the little cut length chart is nice. I will see if i can try mine this weekend if i can find some spray locally.
