Ok... i've been reading posts for recipes on how to achieve 245whp on a 2.0 liter.... or seen builds like mr mikos sr23ve's... just wondering... what numbers have been achieved with a stock bore & stroke DE... that beein 86 x 86... and the way to get there... i don't know... engine management?... bolt onS?... head work?.... bottom end?... please elaborate i want to learn!!!

Here's Robchaos making 180+ WHP from a DE: http://www.sr20-forum.com/tuning/10391-most-powerful-engines-thread-dyno-thread-powerful-cars-tuners-2.html#post145930
I'm pretty sure 200 WHP is a reachable goal with more of the usual mods.
Make sure it's a low port.

190+whp is possible for RobĀ“s setup with better header and proper tune i think.

i went to that post... but 2 things got my attention... the fact that here in mexico you couldnt run too high of a CR because of gas.... and the other is the fact mine's a high port ...

i've been reading the flow bench tests for sr20's heads and realized that a low port flows more than a high port so i'm beginning to wonder.... if i should head swap this be-hoch....

i do belive 200 whp is reachable... but as i read rob's post i figured out he never got into tuning did he?

not gonna happen. especially if you cant run high compression pistons.

no way no how.

get a ve and bolt the balls out of it and throw some n1 cams at it and ull have 200+whp give or take a few and be able to run on reg gas.

i'm just stating that high CR builds couldn't be achieved in my country...

ohh ok.

i think there was some one from ct that hass auto helped build / tune the car it was a 200sx if i remember correctly.

it made like 190 whp if i recall correctly. im sure some one remembers the exact numbers though.

stock compression, massive jwt cams and really good bolt ons and tune.

as far as with all the knowledge that is around now, it depends on how much you wanna spend. im sure if you spend 15 grand on a 86x86 you can get 250whp out of it. but is it worth it ?

actually the reazon for this thread is (i hope i can explain myself) that most of us just have the basic bolt ons on our cars and live somewhat happy with it... not many go te hard way and search for the lost power in the stock DE.... i've always been encouraged by posts from this site like for instance when ben fenner posted his results with engine management on a stock DE... hence this thread is to get to know a little more on "stock" DE tuning, bolt ons and tricks to get the best performance out of it...

If your limited on Compression options, make it a bolt on affair. Run a standalone then tune the $hit out of it.but 250whp on a DE is out of the question, unless you plan on bottle feeding....

if i could do it all over again i wouldnt do a bolt on DE, i would have bought the VE and went from there(but we live and learn, then buy VEs)
