Any reputable rod will do. Shop around.

Look into the B16a Honda head studs instead. Golden Eagle brand or something. Cheap.

If not electrical, make sure to under-drive the water pump. Do mechanical for simplicity. Do electric for more power.

I like eagle rods, cheap and come with arp 2000 hardware.

Why wouldnt you use ITB's?

ITBs are over rated.

A set of ITBs and all that come with it will cost way more on a Nissan.

It is proven that a proper Intake manifold and large 80-100mm TB setup will outperform ITBs.

I already have the underdrive pulleys and ITB's on the VE head. EMS also taken care of already.

Just trying to put some miles on the current 86mmx86mm N1 piston block, then I will have it dyno'd and we can see how the ITB's do on a VE.

This is a good build, but I'm just thinking ahead with this 2.2 block. Would probably just carry over everything from the headgasket up.

I've seen ITBs on honda F22 SOHC motors make nearly 400hp. I've never seen a plain intake manifold do that.

IT will cost a lot, but will repay the cost in wondrous sounds and high revving power.
