Oil choices question?? the Edge
Hey guys, wonder what's the majority of you guys running on your engine in term of oil?

I've always use Pennzoil on most of my previous B13...got this habit from my dad.
I've recently purschase a 98 SE 4drs, so she is mint. I like to keep it that way. I got the high mileage Valvoline red 5-30 on mine right now(and a bottle of Restore engine tune up). I was using half and half Valvoline on my 200sx also. I know this new Edge came out, looks pricey..anyone ran them on their car. The reason is that I will change my wife Sequoia oil this week, so just want some input.

PS I know everyone thinks Mobile 1 is the daddy of all. Anyone try those half and half, I wonder switching to synthetic would cause leaking.

Mobil1 FTW.

btw, using Penzoil or Quaker State leads you to the Slude Monster path.

btw, on my p10, oil did leak (not much tho) thru the VC gasket when I switched from Mobil1 to regular Castrol gtx, but then again it was the OG oem gasket with 150k on the odo.

Pennzoil got a new additive package beginning of 08 I believe that is supposedly a lot cleaner.

The new Castrol Edge is a nice synthetic. It is a toss up for that and Amsoil at this point. It has a high PAO content and a very nice additive package. Insane package. Very good oil. I have been using the M1 EP oil in my wife's car, but I will be going with the Edge this next time.

If you get M1, stick with the Euro formula stuff. It is pretty much the only one worth a damn.

Whatever oil Nissan uses in there dealerships is what I use. It comes out of a huge gun in the shop and I have no idea where the oil even comes from, but it does come out every time I use it.

i use german castrol syntec 0w30. 10k oil changes and oil analysis's and im all good. no problems at all with cold start-ups or anything. car warms up in about 2 minutes when its above 30 degrees. otherwise it might take 3 minutes lol. heck when it goes on sale with a mobil or k&n filter, i buy basically a case : 10qts with 2 filters for 50 bucks. thats enough oil for almost 3 oil changes right there, and its basically 3 years worth for me.
