Thread: BC cams?

I have BC2's in my car right now on stock s/r's and I rev to 7400 all day long with a stock ECU. After 5300 they pull like a pull to redline on my stock cam gears. The low end is what sucks on them with stock cam gears and stock ECU. If you get some CS cam gears and a Calum ECU tuned, they will perform almost identical to S4's and the S3's would not touch them up top. Plus they idle like stock cam gears. You can't even tell a difference. Now if you adjust them with aftermarket cam gears, it is possible that they will idle like S4's once they are dailed in. I will find this out later on. The price increase is why people are not jumping on them like they use to.

I dont think BC stg2 idle better than S4. I will never use BC stg2 in NA.. there is no reason to do it IMO. S4 are drop in and i made more power from 3500rpm to redline. If you see BC stg2 dyno graphs they make more power AFTER 5500rpm than stock. If you use cam gears + some dyno time and tune, they will be more expensiver than S4. And S4 work good to 8000rpm with stock S/R and i doubt BC stg2 do the same.
On the other hand, BC stg2 looks like good drop in cam for turbo cars (someone made here +30whp with no tuning, cam gears etc. i think).

the reason why there is no more threads about them is because everyone has already discuss these in about a thousand threads. there is really no more info to be put out there because by now everyone should know what the diffrence is. and plus this subject is about a year old now so why discuss something that already has been discuss? Its the same answer everytime.

TO me BC cams were the better choice for me because A they were cheaper B cam gears can be held really cheap for me and 3 if you have a hookup on dyno time which i have i wont be spending alot of money on dyno time and expensive cam gears... so i still save.

bc cams are not as bad of a cam as everyone thinks they are. They are not the best but still another choice for our car

why is it bothering you so badly that people discuss this? can you please just let it take place?

its a forum, forums are used to discuss, no matter how many times you think it it has been discussed, people are still responding and giving input, therefore helping the overall general knowledge.

JWT S4 > BC STG 2, with no variables.

BC STG 2+ cam gears+ tuning >/= JWT S4 drop in, no other variables.

Taking money into consideration, you're spending more in the long run, on average, for BC STG 2 cams.

^I don't get stuck on money anymore. It's funny how some people will spend $500 for 5 to 10 HP's with other parts, but want do the same for cams. I know a guy in GA that made 16WHP over stock cams with BC2's on stock s/r's, stock cam gears, and stock ECU. In no way was this post a dice at you Tekkie. We are cool bro.



^You must not like the stock idle and prefer the lobey idle when you say this. Nothing wrong with your comment, it's just your personal perference. I think the BC2's can handle 8K lol.

people are going to post no matter what i say lol...the reason why i said what i said is because if you search all the threads bout s4 to bc cams they all turned in to full out arguments. with little bits and peices of info in between. But more bitching then anything. maybe this thread can stay civil...

8k with stock S/R?

I don't want my daily to idle lobey. It would get on my nerves. I'll run the S4's on my other project for sure. BC2's idle just like stock in my car and in jen36's car. I'll try to get a VID up. I need to buy a new digital camera this weekend anyway. Yes. 8K. They go to 7400 like it's nothing on stock s/r's. I'm not saying it's recommended to do that daily and the health of the motor would have to tell how many times you would be able to do that. I'll also do a VID with me punching it at 5K and let you see how these cams climb to redline. Remember, this will be on stock s/r's, stock cam gears, and a stock ECU.

i dunno about 8k but i rev to 75k alll day long
