just because you get better cams dont mean you always have to change s/r. Sometimes there is no point. You can rev to 8 9 10 grand but that does not mean your cam is going to be making power at that high of RPM. It can drop off at lets say 7200rmp after that there is no point in reving

181whp

You dont need PS delete, but you need ECU to right tune with every cams, even with big like BC stg3, S5,.. and cam gears.

Cam gears are around 125usd and you need them
SR kit is around 200usd, Cam gears are around 125usd and you need both for every bigger cams that you want.

Whats your goal? How much do you want to spend?

I want 200whp or probly a lil more if the lil more comes easily and cheap

I have a spec in my head and on paper but i just want to ensure that with the build, I use the best products that give me the most for my money. I only want to use good stuff for the build and I need reliability.

I dont want to spend over $2500 for the rest of the way of modifiying the engine.

Wat i really want is a nice drag machine, autocross machine and street machine with aggressive street manners. I dont even mind lopey idles. I want the car to maintain all its creature comforts and functions, look good, aggressive, clean and neat; not exravagant. I want it to remain very torquey and it will be my daily driver. The car will have a sound system and A/C and I dont want to remove anything from the car when drag racing. The same way I am on the street must be the same way I run on the track.

Also, with my 200whp I want no less than 160lbs tq

but Why would i spend money on cams that drop off at 7200 rpm and cant atleast make power to 8000 rpm, unless the start making significan power from 3500 rpm. I think upgraded springs and retainers allow any cames to perform better. Am I wrong?

Remember titanium retainers ar not only stronger but lighter and upgraded valve springs are stronger so they can allow the cams to come in a little longer and hold out a little longer giving you a wider power band. Am I wrong?

im not refering to any specific cam you may buy. just any cam overal. Not every cam will make power at higher RPM. Theres only so much a cam can do with tunning and dialing. and yeah you are right bout the springs. but it depends on what cam you have

Ok cool but you can dial them in to produce less hp and more torque or vice versa.

Or you could just lower the powerband, or raise the power band.

^I don't have any C-Cams, but they all need aftermarket s/r's.

brian crower stage 2 intake cams are off 11-14 degrees (estimated range) hence you need a degree wheel and some knowledge to straighten them out

im not sure for brian crower stage 3

I've heard that they were in the approx. range of 10~13 degrees off, so your numbers don't seem surprising.

I'd be curious to see who know's how far off the STG 3's are...
