Thread: Exhaust header bolt

For some reason, my exhaust manifold egr blockoff bolt is gone. I've read that the standard honda tranny bolt will work, but I need to know the bolt size and thread pitch if someone can track that down for me, since there aren't many auto wreckers with hondas around our area. That would help tremendously. Thanks!

Happened to mine as well. Major PITA as not a single bolt or pipe piece from the hardware store fits the hole. I tried for about an hour and a half!! Best and cheap solution is to just bring it over to a local shop and get them to weld a plug in there.. for mine they used what looks like one of those engine block plugs for the coolant channels but it was small enough to fit the hole. Not sure what it actually was.

But it cost around $20 (not a favor since I'd never met them before) and it gets rid of the worry of losing the bolt again (happened to me twice!).

When you get the new bung, make sure you weld a little spot. It'll never move again.
