Before I got one, people acted like it was one of them mods that...once you've done it, you'll never go back. Yes they were right, it's good and you do notice a difference...but from the reviews I was expecting something more. Maybe I was expecting too much...

well the thing you have to understand, is that with these kinda modifications. they are like a benifit for upcoming mods. the advantages of lightweight flywheels are that they:

much lighter over stock down to 8lbs
rev much faster over the rpm band
faster rev = faster shifting
frees up retation mass = in more horsepower gain.

i tihnk that with the flywheel mod,you will notice a difference if you fourthcoming mods have to do with needing lighter rotation mass, faster revs, faster shifts. otherwise the useage for the flywheel might not be seen as important.

but i will say with a boosted application you cant go wrong some people say heavier flywheels create a load for boosted applications that lighter flywheels dont and in return the flywheels dont respond as well as heavier flywheels, but i have yet to see any kinda proof that turbo applications with light flywheels hurt the rpm band. faster shifting, faster revs, esp with a turbo application that is utilizing low rpm full boost that is giving you a larger power range, faster revs is PERFECT. which is exactly what the lighter flywheels do

This is wanting me to put a sr16ve flywheel with the new clutch set up more and more.

I know my twin disk only weighs in at 18lbs all together so I know the VET car will be rev very fast.

i put a 11 pound clutchnet flywheel on my turbo b13 and an 8 pound fidanza on my n/a b13. on the turbo car, it took me a little bit to get used to the car bogging in first gear. but on my n/a one, i got used to it really quick, and love it.

First of all Merry Christmas all!

Yeah, I'm pretty excited. I get to reuse my 9.6lb aasco/stillen f/w in the turbo car, and I'll have one in my n/a car. I think I will like it... but for what its worth - I'll keep my expectations low so I don't overjack the hype.

^^^Um did I miss something. LOL. I thought you had a turbo classic. What happened to that? I'm looking at your sig and you have a turbo egg.

i think you will like it, and you will like it even more if you decide to do other mods that have correlation to the rpm band

whenever i have to change my clutch again, i play on buying and installing a new lightweight flywheel.

i really would like to get as much hesitation out of the car as I can to make it pull even harder.
