would it work with a vvl head??

What advantage will a VVL head possibly give this motor? Its a janspeed head - so it flows very very very well. No Need for VVL here.

If you're talking flywheel figures then I don't thikn it will be THAT hard...

There's a few local SATC cars still running around here, and they put down around 270hp and that's only revving to 8000rpm.

One of my good friends actually bought one of the motors off a circuit car and fitted it to his street n14. Complete with the slide intake etc.

So what is needed to make that 270hp @8000rpm. cause most of the ve guys are only been able to get 190hp i Know that we don't have monster cams yet but what else

There are 14 to 1 compression motors. ( More HP )

That have dry sumps ( More HP )

They have cams that were not designed for emmisions, gas milage and idle. ( ( More HP )

They are running much better Intake systems, take a look at that slide injection quad TB setup ( More HP )

270 HP to the Crank is about 225-230 WHP.

the rest i understand but more hp from a dry sump??? how does that work, thought the dry sump was to prevent oil starvation under hard cornering/acceleration/braking,

AFAIK the slide intake is actually slightly inferior to normal itb's in terms of the air flow patern/turbulance, and very hard to control idle (not a problem on race cars obviously). But at WOT they have the advantage again.

They are used predominantly to save space and allow a longer lenth ram tube to be used in the engine bay.

Will try to get a pic or two, but he's not one to show off or anything, and rarely ever shows pics of the car/motor. Too many pi$$ing contests when ever he used to in the past.
