I'm told you guys are pros
I have been told this is the place to go to get this question answered because no one has done it (and I dont blame them because it's not an increase of any sort, just required because that's all i have lying around)

wondering if there will be an issue switching a RR lowport 01' sentra head onto a 91 sentra non RR highport block. my block is shot and i'd like to swap the head over to my old reliable recently rebuilt block.

I've read a ton about how the blocks are the same on all sr's except the g20(oilpan issue) - but nothing about whether a RR lowport block and a non RR highport block are the same. (it seems the oil filter's in a different place but the internals are the question)

my block is cracked, and i'm putting the rr head on a non rr engine. nothing having to do with realine or a ve etc. I've already done those things to my nx, and i'm simply doing this swap because i have a block already that isn't cracked. it's a reliability issue not a performance one.

lol thanks andreas, you've been around since sr20's were in diapers, so I trust your council. I'm not a greenhorn here guys, been with the sr20forum over at the other site for 3 years, and a sr20 owner for just short of 13, so It's nice to have guys who dont flame me for the question on a block change (since the opposite of what i'm doing has been done, documented, and flamed about for years) but read the question before passing judgment.

again, great to be here, I definatly bring quite a bit to the table from previous years, everything from VE to my nx being the bolt on kingdom, just a bit of a new guy to the b15 scene.

do you guys mind answering why this site is here? is not the regular sr20forum good anymore?

Short answer:

Old site was sold from an SR20 enthusiast to (in effect) a car forum conglomerate.
The new owner implemented the conglomerate's many changes (tons and tons of ads and cross links to other conglomerate owned forums along with other unpopular changes) quickly and without warning.
Immediate backlash by a large portion of the forum membership followed by some threats of deleting content.
All editing privileges were blocked by the new owner to prevent content deletion.
New forum popped up quickly to offer an alternative.
Mention of the new forum on the old forum was censored.
The dust settled and editing privileges were re-instated on the old forum.

Members moved to this site in reaction to one or more of the events above.

make things simple. a guy sold the forum to another guy that didnt care about the community and decided to put a bunch of adds and crap and change everything up. we had no warning so it did not settle well with alot of us... crim made a new site and we all jumped ship with him... the other site is filled with worthless info from a bunch of noobs since most of the knowlage has moved over to this site... dont get me wrong all the good stuff is still there just burried deep and pushed to the back of the black corners of what was once sr20forum.com

wow i had no idea...I was wondering why i was getting second rate information from second rate members trying to talk shop but failed.

this is good that the b15 forum got me over here, I'm missing out on the good community when everyone left.

yay! Back in the fold! only thing that sucks is I have to leave my trader rating behind
