It's all about volume metric efficiency. or how fast u can move air through, when building a plenum or itbs. u should flow test them, this allows u to see how much air is moving. Increasing or decreasing runner length and size will and plenum size, change the velocity of air (flow) in the intake manifold or Itbs

With this data collected u should flow test the head and then kind of match the number or get closest to them to optimize ur setup by change plenum size, runner lenght, and size (diam).

This is for a na setup. boost u really don't care that much the factory plenum works because ur forcing air in the engine. Na uses its own power(on the stroke) to draw air in and with having the same air flow being drawn in allows for efficient power. (no waste) and (more air and fuel).

Hope this helps

if I am wrong plz correct me.

cheers rob

No, a single throttle body is not limited in the ways you describe. Who said anything about a factory plenum? I'm saying anything you can do for gains in HP with ITBs can be done with a single throttle body. The only advantage to ITBs is better throttle response.

Dan made a point about tunable length, etc. This is all possible with a single throttle body. I'll amend my statement and say that ITBs also give an advantage in ease of runner length/horn tuning. With ITBs, all you have to do is swap in new horns to tune the length of the runners. With a single throttle body and plenum you have to create a whole new plenum/intake to change the length of the runners. Another thing to note about ITBs is that they are limited in how short the runners can be. A single throttle body/plenum/intake design allows for much shorter runners if that's what you're after.

they ^^ seem to be a hole lot cheaper (after u do the conversion) than a lot of compAnies selling itb's for the sr20ve and sr20de....

wonder if they good\creditable ??????

still interesting stuff....

like how keep emailing them, cuz i would love to run a set on my ve with a plenum to keep the maf.... but i was talkin an engine builder and he said it might have a problem called gulp effect, when u crack the throttle on the Itbs the time it take the maf to read the air moving causes a problem... ? anyone heard of that. Or can a calum basic run a map...?
