Thread: Header choices

Well after i buy my suspenion setup my next stop is a header and full exhaust.

Well ive been seaching around for a quality 4-1 header and found that stillen makes one for a b13. If you take a look at the pic it doesnt look like there is gonna be any clearance issues due to bulky piping coming aroung the bottom end. Now i have seen many inquires on the stillen.

But of course I've seen tons of love for the SSAC 4-2-1 header.

Now i dont have experience with either header so i would like some opinions on both, power increases, pics, etc.

If you are looking for impressive gains from a header get the Turbofreak 4 into 1 header from Gspec. Not cheap though. $850+. Otherwise I'd just get a SSAC header.

see i was looking at that, not only is it 850 + but the clearance is like wow lol, and i can get the stillen for around 300 or less

Pretty sure the Stillen makes less power than the SSAC. The primaries are smaller.

I installed the 2.5'' SSAC and downpipe for my car, and it really brought out the power from my sr20 motor. I'd go for it.

IM quite happy with my SSAC header, sure their flange design and small things arent the most inventive, however, they produce the goods. They have fat primaries, with short length primaries which tends to suit the light to well modded SR.

The stillen headers are here in australia in a copy for called Genies, they perform ok - but certainly dont deliver like a 4-1 should do. Their primaries are ong and narrow, whcih unless you have a specific cam setup wont be to ideal.

There are fuji's but for the extra money you pay is it worth the 1 or 2 whp you will see, keep in mind this is for 90% of modders out there.

This is all IMO, so please only take it as opinion.

yes i know, but someone may stumble across this thread in 6 months time and think what im saying is gospel etc.

STILLEN- FTL. biggest pos header in the world. get the ssac if you want a cheap header
