Autech Camshaft Specs
Gday All

I recently got a set of Genuine AUtech SR20DE cams profiled.

Here are the results:

Lift on the lobe at TDC on overlap is 7.08mm. Rocker ratio of 1.6 gives us 11.38MM worth of actual lift.

Centerline is roughly .5/.6

Advertised valve timing @ .050"
Inlet Opening: 115.6 BTDC
Inlet Close -64.3 ABDC
Exhaust Opens -64.3 BBDC
Exhaust Opens 115.6 ATDC

With this cam, and 11.5:1 compression you would exepect to see about 190PSI of cylinder cranking pressure. Dynamic compression ratio will be somewhere near 9.2:1 taking into account duration etc

With cam gears you could easily play around with the motor and gain around 3% extra compression, but that sort of thing should be left to a workshop and dyno's to see how it all runs.

Interesting. First I've seen of anyone posting the Autech cam profile specs, EVER.

Well after purchasing the car 2 years ago, i made it my goal to find out exactly what is done to the autech motor. For a "factoryish" setup (ie modified but form factory) their a tough motor, and the engine certainly has a lot more driveable torque than most other cammed DE's.

I saw a 190psi with my s4's and I am thinking I do have a 10.1 compression motor according to this link. check it out!

also have you done a compression check on yours?

^Huh,

Well g'day mate,

It is good to see the specs for an Autech cam, gives a good guideline for setting up any other lumpy cam and to have a sensible starting point.

Well it is obvious that the Autech motor would have more drivability torque than most cammed SR20s. Why you ask? Well Autech has 11.5 to 1 compression and most SR20DEs are 9.5 or 10 to 1 compression. 1.5-2 points in compression is alot.

Yes that is right.

But most cammed DE motor we have over here, dont hold on up top as well as down low as this does. This has been refelected ont he dyno.

There were once rumour the DE autech head had portwrok done, do you know if this is correct Andreas?

I have no clue if the head has been ported.

What piston does an Autech use?
