If a bastard swap is what you are aiming for then I would look at the 1jzgte with a single turbo and vvt-I. That motor is virtually the same as the 2j but has .5 liters less displacement but has the vvt and you won't have to deal with the pain in the ass 6 speed tranny that comes with the 2j. It would also cost much less. Know quite a few guys that specialize in this swap. Let me know if you need some help.

i am finding 240 shells all day for about 500$ and both sr and rb front clips are priced the same @ 2599.00 so i could do a decent build for around the 5k mark but it all depends on your resorcesim not going to do like i did with my sentra i took alot of short cuts and half assed alot of stuff so this will be a perfect expert stage build regardless of what motor i use i have an estamate build time of around 2 years or i could go the more spendy way and get a true silvia/skyline but why? when i could build one to my taste lol

How about building a KA24? Its 0.1 less liters then the RB. You could probably find a KA for pretty cheap. Not that sought after. No new wiring needed if you get a 91+ chassis.
