Aren't the redtop (S13) getting a little long in the tooth, and at the same time, the S14 is getting cheaper??

I would go with a S14 (regardless of if its S13 or S14 shell)

And dependent on the year, the only non OBD2 S14 was the 95 year. Everything else is OBD2

I can ask the guy I got my motor set from. He always gets good stuff but takes a while for it to come over from japan. His screen name is Racer98 on Zilvia and he might be on here but he is mostly on Zilvia.

Either engine should work great. The S13 engine will be less expensive; if you put the balance of money into the S13 engine (rather than buying an S14 engine) - like, front-mount, big exhaust, etc - you'll have more power than the S14 engine makes anyway.

They both respond well to about the same mods. If it were me, I'd go with an S13 engine, but I'm biased.

yeah just dont let an asian nissan finatic see that 13 motor in a 14, he would have a fit, hahaha

But im right there with you. I prefer the 13 motor over the 14 any day. my buddies are opposite. Thing is there are alot more options with the 13 motor than the 14. Doesnt have the annoying, fault prone VCT on the intake cam like the 14 motor has. Alot more cam options out there and to me the 13 motors just look better. If you want the plenum up high just get a $150 freddy manifold and be done with it.

My buddy had soooo many problems with his 14 motor and the 3 13 motors ive done all run flawless and are abused on an hourly basis. haha

Not to mention the 13 motor is cake to wire up in comparison to the 14 motor. The 14 motor requires about 3 times as many wires to go through and cut and solder. Ive done 2 14 motors and again id take the 13 over the 14 any day.

Not to mention the price. We got our 13 motors for 1500 shipped to our door with every last thing you need for the swap minus the fmic and bov.
