BTW, you should know since you're a coordinator aren't you?

Where are these new rules and stipulations??

The drag race information on the awards for all motor / forced induction was mentioned on Facebook in mid February. (one car per award) I don't see it mentioned here which I why I'm mentioning it.... let me copy and paste:

We'll be setting up 2 different race classes on our own.

Quickest 1/4 mile Forced Induction
(Turbo, nitrous and SC)
1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
Quickest 1/4 mile Naturally Aspirated.
1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

This year you will only be allowed to run one or the other. It would be awesome to set up a wager for both classes. Maybe $20 per car, would make things intesting. Post your thoughts here.

You will only be able to run 1 or the other with 1 car. So for example, if you are running a NA car and also nitrous, you can only run one or the other.

If you bring 2 cars, one specifically all motor and one specifically for nitrous or turbo, then you can run both classes.

so what you are saying is that nobody will be able to win more than one trophy with the same car as you "klutch" did last year?? if i remember correctly last year you and your same car took a second place n/a, third place forced induction ,and best looking b13. it makes perfect sense now as it wasn't fair that you and your same car won three trophies and the rest of the camp where left out without an opportunity.. i totally agree with you guys on the one trophy per car rule...

what i strongly disagree with, is the 240sx or datsun rwd disqualification, if i remember correctly this a sr20 convention meaning that any nissan or datsun car powered by an sr20 should be able to compete in the event. i don't agree that the event is just strictly for b13,b14,b15,p10,and p11. i don't understand why you guys would just pick and choose what sr20 powered chassis is able to race in the event?? in my opinion that's not fair to any nissan or datsun rwd car owner that is planning on attending the event.

btw not everyone falls in the stastistics of facebook users. i don't have facebook and never will, so posting the details on facebook doesnt help everyone.

This isnt a Nissan Convention like what was held earlier this year in Costa Rica. West coast convention has always been FWD. (Same as the SR20 National Convention) Other Chassis are more than welcome to participate in the mixed group sessions on the Road Coarse / Drag Strip and stay for the entire event. There will not be awards outside of the core genre of FWD NX /B13 / B14 /P10 / P11.

Everyone still has an opportunity to achieve more than one award. Just not two for drag racing for the same car.

Right, but this is a "sr20 convention". You guys might as well call it "fwd sr20 convention". I still think it's a bunch of bullshit, Patrick.. have you ever noticed that there's a 240 section on this very forum?? Also a gti-r section?? this is the third year that this convention has taken place and just because nobody out here has brought out a sr20 powered rear wheel drive/ awd vehicles as of yet, doesn't mean that it has "always" as you described has been a fwd convention, smh.

I still don't get why the one trophy per car rule doesn't apply for all the categories with the exception of cleanest b13,b14 etc...?? more bullshit if you ask me. if you guys have decided to only make the 1 trophy per car rule for the drag racing category, you guys should do it for the rest of the categories. the conventions are supposed to be about people, how are the rest of the people attending going to feel when one car gets more than one trophy or when they're disqualified and now there to be sent home without an opportunity given to them to take one themselves?? Just because you want to make your rules and stipulations to your favor.. this conversation seems to be getting nowhere with your response, Patrick. Perhaps I should give Charly or Raul a phone call about this matter..

I did not make this decision nor has anyone had a problem with the changes to the Drag Racing Award. Our apologies for not putting in this information here a month ago. Im glad I mentioned this here so there isn't any confusion.

I only mentioned Awd B13 and or Pulsar GTIR on the drag strip. You are more than welcome to give Raul a call with your concerns.

Speaking of myself since I am the Topic of Conversation, I got 6 trophies last year. The Iron man award is for the person drove their car to WCC (Not towed) and participated Balls Deep in each event (which I was the only one who did especially on the road coarse! ) Highest whp on the dyno both N/A and Forced Induction. Now this is another award that should be one or the other but as of right now, there is no dyno day so there is no reason to implement anything for that category this year. Cleanest B13 which you agree on. Lastly is the drag which you mentioned my 2nd and 3rd achievement. So that's 6 awards which would have dropped me down to 4 awards for last year. This is a reason why these changes were made to make things fair. Wcc13 IRMC there was only one individual who got 2 awards. Last year me with 6. Shoot in National Convention Ohio, Rob Ocasio got 4 I believe and not one complaint as he deserved it as did I! One car per category on Drag is not going to change because it makes sense and everyone not just the event host all agree.

The Conventions are most Definitely about the people and cars second. The Organizers have always followed the same format as the national convention which is FWD. (Same Forum / Same Section) The day the National Convention is closer to the west, everyone will travel for one convention for that year... But that's another topic.

you are obviously reading just what you want, I already said that I agree with the 1 trophy per car rule at the dragstrip, but I also said I don't agree with the disqualification of nissan rwd /awd cars. why does the SR20 - forum have a subsection for gti-r and 240?? the answer should be: because they have an sr20, duh...

on a side note you weren't the only one that attended both events and drove your car there, so don't give me that crap and try to wash your hands with that. If any of the organizers would have some sense they would have gave the trophy to somebody else since you had five additional trophies..

This is a fwd based event For sr20 powered cars Following the same script of the National SR20 convention For SR20-Forum.com. It has always been fwd because that's what started our conventions. As for awd and rwd, they are more than welcome to attend and join the event but as of right now we do not have a push for awd or rwd. This community is made up of more than 90% fwd cars. We are NOT going to submit awards to awd and rwd.
