Thread: Official dates, times, and places for the key party.

This is correct as best I understand it. We never had anything set in stone. We were simply attending a generic arrive-and-drive day which is subject to change at any time. Just because they gave it a fun name like "FATT" doesn't mean it is anything special, or set in stone.

I'm sure it is rare that these dates change, but they can. An early SCCA event probably got snowed out because of the crazy weather we've been having, which forced them to scramble, and ended up booting us out. Such is life when the track is "open" for the day.


This just confuses the issue. You see now? The FATT day is just a generic open track day on a Friday. What you really meant was that we should rent the track ourselves (as always) or pool resources and share it with another group so it is set in stone.

I do not think that is true, I dunno what happened but there is little clarity here. And to be venturing guesses is rather reckless.

I just called and they will not cancel an event for another group. (according to the person I spoke to) That schedule is on the calendar on the web site and they are set. They will not be removed for whatever reason. I made it clear to her that If I had a group that wanted to rent out the track that day, could that happen and she explained to me no. (according to the person I spoke to)

I asked her if she is 100% sure that June 12th is FATT and it is set in stone. On Summit Main. (not subject to cancellation)

I asked her if she is 100% sure that June 19th will be an open practice for licensed drivers and she said yes and it is set in stone. On Summit Main. (not subject to cancellation)

Perhaps I am not talking to the right sources, but that was information I was able to find out rather easily. I like all events in the Conventions and would really prefer if all events were there. I will apologize now if Ralphy is upset or others think I am acting incorrectly. Perhaps it is my desire for some information and clarity on what is happening. I found a phone number and called and asked about some information.

Could you guys only begin to imagine the rage that would set forth is any other event were cancelled??? It would be madness.

Kyle, this is the same information I have. Once the schedule is set, it is pretty much SET! Sanctioning bodies do NOT like to move around big boy events! The cost is astornomical and people with $$$$$$ get pissed!

Again, no offense to Ralphy or the organisers, but we did not have our ducks in a row. I offered to make calls early for instructors and putting the organisers in touch with the right people. Been going there 10+ years now and track daying it up for several of those years. Once things are set, they are SET! If they cancel an event, they typically do not reschedule for a later date either...........

I am just frustrated..........

Also, the last time I was there in November and it snowed with 30+ MPH wind down the front straight and about .5 inch of snow on the tarmac, the event was NOT cancelled. Hoosier wet it up, grab a pair of balls and off you went! Also, no fully sacntioned events are present at Summit until March/April.............

I agree, nothing is clear because no one in charge seems to be capable of clarifying it.



To the best of my knowledge, that was not the case 2-3 weeks ago. June 19th was a FATT day, which they canceled to allow SCCA to rent the track.
It seems we have conflicting info, which doesn't surprise me. There doesn't seem to be any clear communication channel right now.

Ok so it seems track day is obviously the biggest event in those 4 days is there any other day that the track would be available were we could swap it for another event day just a thought but this probly has been thought about

From what I believe I can recall correctly, the FATT was on the 12th and has not changed around. But this all hails back to our recurring theme of



I really want to re-establish that I appreciate all efforts put forth to make this happen.

I wouldn't say the track day is the biggest event of the 4 days. No disrespect to the road coarse heads...
